Giving a talk

With Laurie Halse Anderson at Empire State Festival

On a panel at Books of Wonder

At the Library fundraiser!
I love to participate in book festivals and conferences. I will be a Featured Speaker at the USA Science & Engineering Festival in Washington, DC, in April, 2012

I am available for school, library and book club visits. I will talk about my process as a writer, how I got published, facts about the history of New York, and the story of how I wrote Deadly.

""When is Julie coming back?" The comments that came from students in Julie Chibbaro's creative writing workshop were positively glowing. As a teacher, Julie was truly supportive and motivating, as she walked side-by-side with students through a variety of writing exercises. You'd be hard pressed to find a more professional and generous author and person than Julie Chibbaro. Highly recommended for all writing workshop and speaking engagements."
- Alison Herrero, Adult Services Librarian, Howland Public Library

"Julie is that rare teacher who can help you figure out not just the "who, what, when, where," of your story (although there's plenty of that, too) but also the "why" of it, so that you learn to not only appreciate, but to anticipate, the complexity...and the potential...in every sentence. After working with her you'll never look at your own--or any other--writing the same way again." -- Hal Jay Greene, student
